About Me

I'm a PhD Student at the University of York, England. I'm a member of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group in the Department of Computer Science. My current research on Compositional Distributional Semantics using quantum theoretic postulates is supervised by Dr Suresh Manandhar. I'm funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) with a Doctoral Training Grant (DTG) Studentship.

Short Bio

Before taking my current studentship at the University of York, I studied complex software systems and software engineering. I obtained my BSc in Computer Science and Complex Software Systems from the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhine-Sieg, Germany. Back in 2010, after completing an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration, I started my undergraduate studies. Throughout my time as a student I also worked as a software engineer and system administrator in freelance, part-time employment and/or internships.

My research interests are in Natural Language Processing and applications of Machine Learning and Quantum Theory. My current research on Compositional Distributional Semantics is the intersection of these three areas. Besides that, my interests comprise of text summarisation, sentiment analysis and social network analysis. I develop software which makes research in Artificial Intelligence accessible to industry and consumers. I apply theory to practice to solve real world problems.
